Call to Visual Artists
The 12th annual River Arts Festival is accepting up to three submissions of art from individual artists, both flat and dimensional. All non-youth/student entries will be juried for acceptance for exhibition over the full length of the Festival, November 4 - 18, 2017. 75 artists participated last year – so, whether you are a new artist, an aspiring youth artist or an artist who has exhibited for years, this is a fabulous opportunity to showcase your work for free.
This show, part of a two week multidisciplinary celebration of the arts, offers a free opportunity to show and sell your best work. Work is displayed in businesses throughout downtown Dunnville (about 20 venues last year and expecting more this year), creating a win-win for both artists and businesses. The main gallery is in Haldimand Art Works/Flyers Cafe at 144 Queen Street, but every venue gets a lot of attention. This is a truly excellent opportunity to exhibit and sell in the period leading up to the holidays in December and January. There is no exhibit fee, although businesses where any work is exhibited will retain 15% of any sales as an administration fee.
Flat work MUST be wired and ready-to-hang (if pieces are not properly stretched and/or framed AND wired, they may excluded from the Festival.) Please wire all flat pieces before submitting.
Submissions will be accepted at the Dunnville Kinsmen Hall , 102 Main Street, Dunnville, ONLY at the following times:
Friday, October 27 (10am-7pm)
Saturday, October 28 (10am-4pm)
Sunday, October 29 (10am - 2 pm)
Monday, October 30 (10am- 7pm)
When you deliver your work, you will be asked to fill out two forms by
staff /volunteers, or they can be downloaded here by clicking the
download button, filling them in and bringing them with you. All pieces (including those that were not juried into the show and were stored over the Festival) must be picked up at the Dunnville Kinsmen Hall, 102 Main Street, Dunnville, on Sunday, November 19, , 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. or Tuesday, November 21 (10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.). UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE, PIECES NOT PICKED UP AT THESE TIMES WILL HAVE A $20 STORAGE FEE CHARGED.
Plan to come to the opening Wine and Cheese reception on Saturday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Flyers Cafe to view the show, meet friends and colleagues and celebrate the arts! This is an all ages event and all are welcome!
