This is an exciting opportunity to showcase today’s ground breaking mobile film capabilities and the talent and creativity of filmmakers, either emerging or established.

Film makers are welcome to submit to River Arts Festival's Pocket Film Festival screening on Nov. 16, 2016 at Flyers Bakery and Café 8pm - 10pm.

Open to Canadian residents of all ages

New, emerging and established film makers are invited to submit short films no longer than 5 minutes in relation to the theme "BRIDGING THE GAP".

Short films must be produced using mobile devices such as cellphones and tablets - no professional cameras or sound equipment permitted.

Submitted films will be reviewed by River Arts Festival volunteers, and a select number of films will be featured as part of a festival Film Night on Nov. 16, 2016 to be held at Flyers Bakery and Café in Dunnville.

All films are subject to jurying and will be selected based on quality and creativity foremost.

There is no fee for submitting content, applicants are welcome to submit more than one production.

Films must be submitted by providing Festival Volunteers with an unpublished Youtube link for jurying and review.

Film makers are welcome to interpret the theme “BRIDGING THE GAP” any way they like, there are no restrictions with regards to subject matter.

All submissions will remain the property of the film maker.

By submitting a signed application form, applicants give River Arts Festival the right to screen their film if selected.

Applicant Selection, Notification and Screening:
All submissions will be reviewed for creativity and quality of production. Only a select number of films will be chosen.

All applicants will receive notification of submission status, those not being selected will be given constructive criticism and encouraged to participate in future events.

Selected applicants may be asked to provide further information such as a short bio, and pictures for promotional purposes

Selected films will be included in the Nov. 16, 2016 River Arts Pocket Film Festival Event receiving a $50 honorarium for their submission.

Successful applicants will have their bios and description of their film included on the River Arts Festival website and used to create posters promoting the event.

Filmmakers are welcomed and encouraged to attend, introduce their film and address the crowd after the screening to answer any questions or make a statement.
